Body Paint like A Pro

Paul Roustan is an award winning champion airbrush artist and graduate from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Paul’s airbrushed body paintings have been used for numerous events worldwide and featured in fashion shows, parades, photographic workshops, and on the walls of galleries all over the world. This year Paul was the winner of the North American Body Painting Championship where he painted two amazing pieces that inspired many people.

EBA enjoyed meeting Paul at the competition and was able to get an inside look on what inspired Paul to prepare the two pieces from NABPC. Paul was enthusiastic and supportive about EBA’s products, “EBA’s paint flowed very nicely, there was minimal clogging. The vibrancy was excellent and as expected, I found that the Vibe makeup was above a standard level. Overall, I was not disappointed at all with the durability of the vibe makeup. This has been an exciting kick off to the summer season for European Body Art!  EBA has grown substantially since the 1^st of the year with an exponential increase in interest after each trade show that we’ve attended.  From the full body art competition in Dallas, TX, to the haunted/ FX show, staying at the forefront of our industry with innovative products is our secret to success.

Recently, EBA was discovered by CBS News at the Transworld Halloween and Attractions show in St. Louis, Missouri. After seeing our talented artist Nick Herrera, and his unique and his signature award winning design collection, NIX®, CBS/KCAL 9 in Los Angeles, decided to do a segment on EBA in promoting IMATS (International Make-Up Artist Trade Show) in Pasadena, CA. IMATS is the cosmetic industry’s largest gathering, and needless to say, EBA was honored to take part in this great opportunity. Not only did the segment feature our sponsored artist, but it brought attention to our amazing products and unique focus on the body art industry in general.

The ZeroG has successfully launched worldwide and the feedback we are getting is exciting!! Watching attendee’s use the ZeroG at trade shows and seeing their reaction after a “hands-on” experience is exhilarating and gratifying.  In fact, EBA decided to put our ZeroG claims of functionality and performance to a further test by agreeing to take part in “Family Days” at several Angel’s baseball games in Anaheim, CA. EBA, The Talk of The Show

This past month European Body Art attended the Face and Body Art International Convention (FABAIC) in Orlando, FL and the Midwest Haunters Convention in Columbus, OH. At both events, EBA showcased our new ZeroG airbrush and also presented many new and exciting products including our face and body painting designs featuring our patent pending StencilFlex technology.  Additionally, Nick Herrera and his innovative NIX® designs, the exclusive sugar skull and FX collections, were a huge hit.

With long hours and a tight schedule, Nick not only demonstrated 6 body paintings, but was able to show his amazing talent while teaching classes on the art of airbrushing, face painting and tattoos. At each class, Nick went into great detail on various techniques, how to get the best coverage, how to achieve crisp clean lines, and how to find and use the right equipment.

EBA assisted Nick in his classes on airbrush tattoos and taught students how to use the New ZeroG Airbrush. The artists, ranging from beginners to advanced, learned about new techniques, new products, and how to venture out and expand their imagination. Watching the attendee’s reaction to a “hands on” experience with the ZeroG was very exhilarating as they were overwhelmed at the simplicity that the ZeroG brings to the airbrush industry.

EBA’s new ZeroG was the talk of both conventions. Doing back to back shows, we constantly had an excited crowd gathered around our booth to see the new ZeroG airbrush in action. This experience confirmed to us how great the new airbrush is going to be for artists of all levels. With zero cleaning, zero flushing, zero clogging and zero limitations, the ZeroG is revolutionizing the airbrush industry.

EBA’s patent pending StencilFlex technology is the cornerstone of the FacilFaces stencil designs, bringing airbrush face painting to a whole new level. The StencilFlex technology allows stencils to be bent and placed around oddly shaped areas that are being painted with an airbrush or brush. This allows for quick and easy application while preventing the paint from going under the stencil.

StencilFlex technology was invented out of necessity. When EBA’s Team gathered to create a faster, cleaner, more comfortable way to apply to those hard to reach areas, the StencilFlex technology was born.  After trying it out on several faces, we realized that airbrushing around the nose and eyes using a stencil that was scored or bent in a meaningful deliberate way would allow the integrity of the design to remain intact. The invention consists of an engraved, scored or cut stencil with marked instructions guiding the user on exactly how to lay stencils flat onto uneven surfaces.

For example, a stencil designed to fit around the eye and the bridge of the nose is in the way but by using the StencilFlex technology, a scored stencil can be easily bent without disrupting the integrity of the design that is cut into the stencil.  The artist can hold the stencil in place around the eye with the folded/scored area of the stencil fits on the bridge of the nose. In this way, the area of the design which constitutes the bridge of the nose can also be sprayed cleanly without discomfort to the client.
